Did you listen to the Horses In The Morning podcast episode with me talking about creating a brand for your business?
If not listen to it below.
In the episode, I talked about why it is important to create a brand. I thought it would be great to provide y’all with a free brand board template like the one below.
So like in the episode, I talked about creating an experience and having an aesthetic across all platforms.
Let’s get started on creating a brand identity!
A brand identity is YOU, in your brand. It is a combination of your brand personality, your logo, colors, and style.
1. You will first need to create a FREE Canva account.
2. Get your FREE template here. Then follow the steps to make a copy.
3. Pick your company colors
- Go to pinterest and type in “any color you want” color palette ex. “Green and Purple” Color Pallete
- Select a few images that are the inspiration for your brand colors
4. Now that you found images of colors you want. Save them to your computer
- Good to have 4-5 colors from the color palette you selected
5. Go here to get the Hex Codes (color codes) from the images you selected.
- You can either enter in the file url or upload the image
- Good to have 4-5 colors from the color palette you selected
6. Now time to find what fonts you want to use.
If you have a Free Canva account you’ll have to choose from the ones they have. If you have a paid account you can upload ones. You can use Pinterest for Font Ideas too.
- Remember you want these to be easy to be read on your website and social media platforms.
- Maybe have a font that can be bolded easily
7. Create your Logo
OR have someone make one. If on a budget you can have someone on Fiverr create one for a fairly decent price. Don’t let having a “Perfect Logo” Hold you back from starting. My logo is still pretty simple, but its consistent with my brand.
- Could just be your business name written with your font and some simple lines.
- Play around with it in Canva
8. Now that you have your Hex Codes, Fonts, Image Inspirations and Logos insert all of it to the brand board template.
*If you don’t have an icon or sub logo, you can delete that section.*
